The title track for the album is taken from the perspective of the Older Son in the so-called “Prodigal Son” story. About 8 years ago or so, I had an insight that the Prodigal Son story is really not about the Prodigal, but about the Older. That whole beautiful story of Reconciliation of the Prodigal is just a set-up to the Older Son’s reaction to God’s mercy and grace. Although I have sinned (sometimes gravely), I have never gone way off the deep end as the Prodigal did; and so I sometimes identify more with the Older Son's perspective. I imagine that many people who listen to this album might feel the same way.
