about

Words and music © 2015 Kenneth L. O’Connor
Ever since seminary, I’ve wanted to write a song based on Psalm 127 (well, the first part anyway). If our lives are not built on God, then it’s really all in vain. The problem is, it's kind of a short psalm, and I never could make a full song out of it. In 2014, I had the idea of complementing the psalm with two of Jesus' images from the Gospels for the verses. I use a bit of an unusual story-telling technique, and so by making the song a duet, one could distinguish which story was being told by which voice was singing. Thanks to Wade Talley for providing that other voice. He sings about foundations. I sing about maidens.
